Fine art for art therapy. Recently we ran an 8-week art therapy project ‘Safe Together’ funded by Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership which allowed children and young people to learn fine art techniques with a child psychologist and artist. Watch this space for details of our forthcoming art exhibition; our child artists self-help book they made to support other children with a parent or family member is here.

We are always putting in funding bids to run special projects. Here are just a few we are running at the moment...
'SAFE TOGETHER'

STRONGER OUTSIDE
We are currently running monthly family support groups, funded by the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership. In these groups we provide opportunities for both young people and adults to gain peer support and learn in a relaxed and supportive environment. We are attracting guest speakers for our parents and carers on topics such as helping children cope with anxiety, spotting the signs of child exploitation, coping with trauma and teenage parenting. For the young people we are attracting guest artists, local sports coaches, nutritionists and we are also planning on a community family outing when and where safe to do so in line with the current Covid19 restrictions.

ANIMATED BOOKS FOR CHILDREN OF PRISONERS
We are writing and illustrating our own series of books to help other children understand about parental imprisonment, working in partnership with Learnerama.

POLITICAL THEATRE
We are currently working in partnership with All Things Considered Theatre and The Unity Theatre to write a piece of theatre that tells the story of children of prisoners. Our children and young people are lead consultants on this project. Watch this space for details of the forthcoming show which will take place in the Unity Theatre in 2021!
